In 2014, One For All decided to shift its brand direction from a sales-driven organization with a budget brand to a marketing-driven organization positioned as an A/B brand.

Our strategic approach

During the strategy development process, the focus was on what makes One For All stand out. We concluded that the brand does not merely sell a collection of individual accessories; rather, it offers universal solutions for home entertainment, working from home, and gaming. This universal nature—combined with products that integrate seamlessly with the equipment consumers already own, such as a wall mount for any TV or a remote control for any brand—became the central theme.

To bring order and clarity to the retail shelf, we created logical connections between product categories. Where products were previously presented as isolated technical solutions, we introduced structure by organizing them into distinct product lines.

Securing internal buy-in was essential to the success of this strategic vision. Through intensive collaboration with the marketing, product, and sales teams, we ensured that everyone was aligned. Because all departments were involved in the process, the new brand narrative was embraced throughout the entire organization and communicated consistently.

Translating strategy into design and solutions

Using the strategy as a foundation, we translated it into a refreshed brand identity. We introduced four core design principles to serve as a compass for all visual communications:

  1. Design with simplicity

  2. Design to be accessible

  3. Design so it is universal

  4. Design to be meaningful

To guide consumers effortlessly through the extensive product range, we developed a layered information structure that leads the customer step-by-step:
• Brand level: Focusing on recognition and coherence across the various solutions.
• Situation level: Highlighting challenges within the home environment and demonstrating the added value of the One For All solution.
• Product level: Only once the customer has determined their direction do we delve into technical details and specific product tiers (budget, high-quality, or premium).

Furthermore, we translated the strategy into tangible digital solutions, such as an intuitive product selector on the website and the OFA Advanced app. By asking targeted questions, we match the customer’s needs with the right product. The OFA app then guides customers through a seamless installation process.

Results in packaging, events design and campaigns

The new, tiered design system immediately proved its value in practice. The broad product range required smart navigation—both on the shelf and online. We developed distinct visual styles for each product category, clearly differentiating between ‘basic’ and ‘advanced’ solutions. These well-defined frameworks ensure that the brand identity remains cohesive across every piece of packaging, every in-store display, and all online campaigns.

The new positioning created a consistent brand experience across various channels, with content tailored strategically to each one: from polished brand shops at retail partners like Argos and Amazon, to inspiring lifestyle content from influencers on Instagram and thought-leadership articles on LinkedIn.

This new positioning delivered immediate results across different target audiences:

For B2B & Resellers: It is now clearer that a cohesive product range—featuring complementary items—offers a stronger commercial proposition with significant benefits for all parties involved.

For Consumers: They can now discover solutions—online, via the app, or through product packaging—in a logical way that addresses needs beyond their initial search. Furthermore, the combination of tiered information and a product selector encourages well-informed purchasing decisions, leading to a significantly lower return rate.

Summary and conclusion

The transformation of One For All began in 2018, driven by the need to move away from technical, competition-focused communication. By centering the brand on its own core strengths, the focus shifted toward ‘universal solutions’ for home entertainment, remote work, and gaming. Through strong internal alignment, this vision was translated into four clear design principles and a layered information structure. Innovations such as a product selector tool and a dedicated app helped optimize the customer journey. This resulted in cohesive packaging lines, targeted online campaigns, and robust partnerships on platforms like Amazon—all of which yielded immediate benefits for both B2B partners and consumers.

Conclusion: The One For All case study demonstrates that transitioning from a product-driven to a solution-driven brand strategy leads to a stronger market position. By shifting the focus away from technical specifications and instead centering on consumer challenges—guiding users through thoughtful design (both digital and on physical packaging)—a brand can not only improve the customer experience but also achieve tangible business success. The brand now conveys trust, return rates have decreased, and a foundation has been laid for sustainable growth among both retailers and end-users.
