Then and now

In 2010, we founded Kern in Enschede. In the first years, we did graphic design in the broadest sense. Since our move to Deventer in 2015, we have focused on branding. In recent years, we have expanded and refined our approach and expertise.

Always on

In our studio, we are constantly talking about the world around us—online, in magazines and books, on the street, in the media, or while traveling. It keeps our frame of reference vibrant and alive. That’s how we stay inspired and manage to remain relevant in terms of content.

No boxes

We build brands. We are neither a visual identity agency nor a strategy consultancy. Design is our main tool, but we always use it with a clear purpose: to build a brand that stands strong.

Immune to trends

We never get carried away by form without substance. Trends are fun, but they come and go. It would be a shame to let yourself be blinded by them. For us, timeless aesthetics with a strategic foundation come first. You could call that “sustainable” with a trendy term 😉.

Simple and to the point

Design must be clear and understandable. Of course, 'less is more' is the biggest cliché in our world, but it does ensure that messages are clear and understandable. Less noise and unnecessary embellishment, more clarity and essence.
